Life With A Puppy

We brought home our little Gus just over 2 months ago and now coming home to a wagging tail is easily one of the best parts of the day. Gus is going to be 4 months old next week and weighed in at a whopping 33lbs last Friday (and he has likely put on a couple since). As adorable as he appears he has a stubborn streak and an instinct to jump that sometimes drives his puppy parents CrAzY! We are constantly saying “no” or “down” and have battle wounds all over our hands, arms and legs from puppy teeth and nails. That being said, he is so smart and we love him so much.

It also amazes me the extra activity that our puppy adds to our day. I am telling you dogs are great motivation to move! Besides taking him in and out, and out and in, there are the walks and general playing where he gets his people moving! Never would I want to go for a walk at 5:50 AM, but it just makes Gus’ day!

He still wants to sit in the front on my lap during car rides... this can't last too much longer!

Can’t stay angry with a face like that :)

See how much he has grown!

Life with a puppy is BETTER! Having a puppy has also changed some of my habits and routines. In the past it wouldn’t bother me to work and then head straight to the gym and be gone for 10-12 hours during the day. Gus keeps me grounded (in a good way) and has me spending more time at home, outside enjoying the mosquitoes ;), and with Wes. Time with Gus is (mostly) relaxing and re-energizing. Now, I can’t picture our life without him.
