Pear & Cheese Squares

Looking for a simple treat that is sure to wow your game day crowd? Try these Pear & Cheese Squares for a sophisticated and indulgent treat. I wanted to showcase cheese in an alternate way from dips and spreads. I choose the Cabot Cheese Seriously Sharp Cheddar as the star of the show.

1 ripe pear

6oz Cabot Cheese Seriously Sharp Cheddar

12 slices rye party bread


Heat oven or toaster oven to 350 degrees. Using a non-stick pan evenly space the 12 slices of rye bread. Peel and slice pear into thin wedges and place directly on bread. Next top with slices of the cheese. Bake for about 5 minutes until cheese is melted. Lastly switch to broil for about two minutes. Watch closely at this point! Remove from oven and cool on the tray briefly for about 1 minute. Time to enjoy!
